Donaldson Newsletter 25th January 2021
Dear Parents/Carers,
Trust you had a good weekend and your child is ready for another week of home learning.
It was wonderful to see so many children on zoom last week. If you missed out, don't worry, we will be organising more. It can be quite an isolating time for the children. So please do keep connected with each other through your own video calling etc..to family and friends.
This week in maths we will be working on one less. This is a little tricker than one more as children are used to counting up, rather than down. So please focus on the counting down from 20, as this really does help to understand the concept of one less. If this is too tricky, please concentrate on counting back from 10.
In phonics this week we will be concentrating on learning 3 new sounds and some tricky words. These will be the last new sounds for a while as in the upcoming weeks we will be revising some of the earlier diagraphs and applying them to reading and writing.
The topic work this week is centred around Barnaby Bear's fascination with famous Italian inventions. Enjoy!
Thank you all so much for the work you are doing with your child(ren) at home. I am sure it can be challenging at times but also so rewarding in seeing the progress they are making. Please feel free to tapestry or email me if you would like me to give you a phone call about your child's learning.
Kind regards
Ms Matthews
